Staff and leadership

Staff:

Joshua Brown – our pastor since 2015, Josh previously served Friends meetings in Indiana and New York.  Josh has published numerous books and articles. He has been an adjunct faculty member at Earlham School of Religion, given dozens of workshops, and served on local and international mission boards. In his spare time Josh plays traditional folk music, gospel hymns and enjoys wood turning.

Tanna Shipwash – our youth minister, grew up at Springfield and works with the Tuesday evening youth group and also teaches Sunday School.

Tanya Bazemore – a lifelong member of Springfield and our administrative assistant, Tanya runs the office, stays in touch with everyone, schedules and organizes special events.

Sandra Culler – our meeting treasurer, Sandra supports all of our many activities and helps them run smoothly. A great detail person and organizer, Sandra also helps with many special events and is clerk of the Family Life committee.

Julia Goodson – our accompanist, is a gifted musician who also performs frequently at area coffeehouses

Eugene Shipwash – our part-time custodian, Gene keeps our building spic and span for the many events which happen at Springfield. His quiet, friendly competence helps everyone else work better!

Volunteer leaders:

Rita Walker – the clerk of our meeting, presides at our monthly business meeting and is in touch with all of the other leaders.

Paulo Barata – the clerk of our Ministry and Counsel committee, which oversees worship, pastoral care and visitation, deals with membership applications and weddings, and anything which affects the spiritual life of the meeting; he is also a very talented musician and frequently shares special music during worship

Tim Terrell– the clerk of our Finance committee, which oversees the budget, cash flow, investments and all financial matters

Tom Terrell – the head of the Springfield Memorial Association, which oversees the cemetery and the columbarium

Tyler Foster – Tanna Shipwash’s husband, helps with many youth programs and events
